Streaming Broadcast Services — Capabilities
Production-grade remote streaming without sacrificing broadcast quality. Distributed teams, centralised signal — engineered for live events at any scale.
Overview
A remote streaming workflow connects distributed production talent, hardware, and signal paths into a single, cohesive broadcast pipeline — regardless of physical location.
Whether your director is in London, your encoder is on-site at a festival, and your graphics operator is running from a home studio in Manchester — a properly engineered remote workflow means every contributor operates as if they're in the same room.
SBS has designed and delivered these pipelines for global brands, daily live channels, and festival-scale events. We engineer around your event requirements, not around off-the-shelf limitations.
The Process
Every remote production is different. Here's how SBS structures the workflow from brief to broadcast.
We assess the venue or distributed environment in detail — bandwidth capacity, network topology, power availability, and signal routing. Every contributor is briefed, connection paths are documented, and a signal flow diagram is locked before anything goes live.
Hardware and software are deployed to each node of the production — on-site encoders, remote contribution terminals, cloud mixing platforms, and graphics systems. We configure every element of the chain before talent is ever online.
Connection stability is non-negotiable. We deploy bonded cellular, dedicated fibre feeds, and SRT protocol to ensure sub-second latency with built-in redundant paths. If the primary connection drops, the failover is already live.
Remote presenters, cameras, and guests are brought into the production chain via managed guest links, codec contribution boxes, and low-latency video call bridges. Each feed is monitored individually and assigned to a dedicated input in the mixing environment.
Vision mixing happens from the cloud or a centralised remote location, with full IEM talkback keeping the director and crew in sync across every node. Simultaneous RTMP outputs feed CDNs and platforms in real time, with stream health monitored end-to-end until the final frame.
Tech Stack
SBS is platform-agnostic. We select and configure the right tools for each production — from the encoder to the CDN edge node.
Hardware and software encoders handle on-site and remote source compression before feeding into the production chain. We configure for the lowest viable latency without compromising image quality.
Cloud-based and hardware production switchers allow full remote direction. We operate the mix from wherever the production demands — on-site, remote studio, or fully distributed.
Managed remote guest integration via low-latency browser links or codec devices. Each remote feed is handled as a first-class production input, not an afterthought.
Production intercom and talkback keeps every remote crew member synchronised in real time. IFB feeds ensure talent receives director cues without delay or crosstalk.
End-to-end stream monitoring covers bitrate, packet loss, latency, and audio levels across every output simultaneously. Issues are caught and corrected before they reach the audience.
Simultaneous delivery to YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, custom embeds, and private streams via CDN. One production signal, maximum reach.
Applications
From flagship live events to always-on digital channels, remote production scales to fit any brief.
On-site crew stays lean while production control is distributed. Multiple camera feeds, remote directors, and graphics operators all feeding into a single broadcast output — reliable enough for 100,000+ viewer events.
Three slots a day, multiple remote presenters, consistent production quality across time zones. We build the infrastructure that makes daily live broadcasting feel effortless and reliable.
Multiple office locations, executive speakers, and global audiences brought together into one polished broadcast. We handle the technical complexity so your team can focus on the message.
Commentary teams, on-site talent, and production across multiple time zones and continents. We've built workflows for major gaming publishers where zero-failure delivery is non-negotiable.
